Course Description

This accredited course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform basic rigging and slinging operations safely in the workplace. The training focuses on identifying lifting hazards, selecting and inspecting lifting equipment, applying correct slinging techniques, and communicating effectively during lifting operations. Learners will be equipped to support safe lifting activities and comply with occupational health and safety requirements.

  • Hazard identification and risk assessment for lifting operations

  • Types of lifting equipment and slings

  • Inspection of slings, hooks, shackles, and lifting accessories

  • Safe slinging methods and load control

  • Load weight estimation and centre of gravity

  • Hand signals and communication during lifting operations

  • Safe work practices during lifting and moving of loads
